Making it Happen

Ok, sounds intriguing... I (really) like the idea. How can I help?

To realize this idea, either someone with a lot of money, or more likely, someone who already owns enough suitable land in a suitable country must be found and convinced. - Or several such people. That's no easy job. Not easy at all. And then partners must be found to build, run and maintain the Living Among Horses facility, this 'School of Stallions'. So if you know someone who might be interested in this idea and either already has suitable land in a suitable country or might be willing to spend a lot of money on something like this, spread the word! Tell them about it! Let them know about this idea and get them to read this text. And most of all, get in touch and contact me!

Why not raise the money with crowdfunding and a Kickstarter project?

That's not a bad idea. Actually at first I thought about this myself. I don't think it will work with this kind of project though. For crowdfunding (and a Kickstarter project) to work, I think you don't only need to have a good or very good idea, which I believe this is, but two other important conditions must also be met:
  1. The starting capital you need must be a either very small, or, your target audience which is willing to give you money must be very big. Preferably both.
  2. No matter what your idea or project is about, you must be able to give people who donate money to it in advance something in return. Some kind of value. Preferably, some kind of material value or a product that they can own or use. Or at least a promise, that they will get something, preferably something material in return.

For computer games crowdfunding works great. When a computer game is made, donators can be promised to get a copy of the finished game once the game is finished. With computer games all these conditions are met.

The Living Among Horses project however does not meet any of these conditions. That's why I don't think crowdfunding will work for it. At least not alone: First, it needs a hell of a lot of starting capital to buy good and suitable land for a vacation facility in a tourist destination with space for 40 stallions kept naturally in a group and accommodations for 20 tourists to live among them without stepping on each other's feet all the time. Then, the target audience is also much smaller than for a commercial product like a computer game. And finally, donators who support and fund the project in advance, cannot be given anything in return for their donations. The only thing I could offer them is a free booking, a free one-day stay at the facility, once it is operational.

I did the math on that and how long the Living Among Horses facility would be booked out just with giving back and cashing in such free days to people who donated for the project in advance with crowdfunding: With an estimated starting capital of $5 million Dollars or Euros plus compensation for lacking income and only 20 tourists at max at any time, the facility would be completely booked out every day of the year with free stays just for such Kickstarter donators for 5 years, when asking 185.- Euros per person per day. Or 4 years, when asking 220.- Euros per person per day. Or 3 years, when asking 275.- Euros.
Who would donate 275.- Euros to stay one day at a facility, which does not exist yet, takes several years to build, and once it is completed, he or she must perhaps wait almost another 3 years for his or her turn, before he or she gets his or her free booking day in return? And although I added a compensation into this calculation for lacking income during this time, the risk and dangers of not generating any real income in the beginning is high for a new business. Very high.

So is all hope lost then? Is there nothing we can do? What's the plan?

I know the situation is grim for horses and the level of respect with which the human race meets them on a daily basis in countless 'horse stables' around the world. Despite all the progress that's been made in the last 20 years. It's still full mobilization in the equine industry. They're still rigging veterinarians as horse mutilators every day. And they're still convinced, that it's the horse's testosterone which hinders them the most in using horses as slaves. And they might be right.
I know that women are generally more empathetic than men and sympathize with horses more often than men, but they won't help here. For one, they don't have any testosterone themselves. Or hardly. And therefore can't understand it. And besides that, many of them, especially in the equine industry, look down on the male sex in general and talk themselves into the lie, that emasculation and a lack of testosterone supposedly were as good for males as it is for them. Or better. More often than not, it's women behind the decision, motivation and the ruthless ignorance and violence to castrate a horse. Frickin' daisycutters.
Every day the violence and ruthlessness, the aggression of human egoism is committed straight to the Well of Souls, the sexual organs in the body of dozens, perhaps hundreds of male horses. If this violence is taken to the Well of Souls -- it's over. It's male's main line to Eywa, to their ancestors -- it destroys them. It's the cutting off of the queue of the Na'vi. And if this violence continues, the main conception, the main image the human race has of the horse as a slave, as an object with which human beings can do whatever they want will never change. I know that and so do you.

So I guess we better stop them. But how? The equine industry and the motivation, the human interest to castrate and exploit the other, horses, are all-powerful. It's like a rain that never stops. We are going against the multi-million dollar equine industry with bows and arrows. I or we have no money to build and create even just one example to teach them as I am suggesting with the Living Among Horses project. And crowdfunding won't work here. I guess we were all hoping for a plan that didn't involve martyrdom...
Well, I've come up with an idea. It won't be easy, but it's an idea: Battle Plan

Is this a joke? Who's behind this? Why don't you give your full name and address?

No. This is not a joke. Not at all. In fact, I am very, very serious about this. I have been all my life. Despite showing pictures of a fantasy film for advertisement and despite not giving my real name. I'm simply not giving my real name here, because I've become quite experienced with the Internet and people interested in horses in it. And I found, that if you don't push your name into the faces of people who have never met you or seen you, they are less likely to abuse you with your real name. People, not only men, just happen to behave pretty bad when they think they can get away with anything without any consequences.

Yes I do. You can find them all in: Promotion

I already have the land, the money or the friends to do this. You come across as an unsympathetic jerk. Why should I work with you?

You're right: Much like Jake Sully is strapped to a wheel chair in 'AVATAR', social competence and human relationships are not my primary strength. I've heard I come a across as a rather blunt guy and I'll admit, I do prefer to communicate in a straight-forward, honest and direct manner. In other words, diplomacy and suppressing the truth or what I think is the truth, will not be a reason for you to work with me. Much like Grace Augustine likes plants better than people in 'AVATAR', I too prefer the company of horses over that of humans.

I do have other values though and I think they will more than make up for this. I believe you will not find many people on this planet who bring so many ideas, so much motivation and background and knowledge to a project like this as me. The ideas I present on this webpage are just a fraction, the tip of the iceberg of what goes into an idea, a concept such as this one. There are countless more things to consider about the concept and ideas that I present on this webpage.

As I said earlier, I am a former horse groom and I have worked on the ideas presented here for over 25 years. Although I have never owned a horse, much like many humanists have never owned a slave, I am a long-time advocate for animal rights and for the proper and respectful treatment of horses. I am a pioneer and a journalist on these subjects and I was the first in the world to write (and to publish in the Internet free of charge and at my own expenses) a long and detailed article, or rather, a detailed instruction manual, about the species-appropriate keeping of adult stallions in group as an alternative to castration. That was long before the Swiss national stud took notice and decided to do its own experiments on this subject and possibility, which eventually led to their own 'scientific study' which they published 10 years later. You will hardly find a more well-educated and motivated expert on the ideas and concepts presented here. I know what I'm talking about, I think I was closely involved or even crucial in pushing this agenda and I do not think that is an exaggeration.

Financially, I have an alternate source of income. As long as I don't need to pay for my housing, I don't need any income from this. I believe these things make me a very good choice to create, build and work on something like what I propose here. Even if I might not be the most skilled diplomat or socially adept, I really believe it would not be financially or in any other way advisable or profitable for anyone considering anything like what I propose on this webpage, to not use and employ my considerable talents, knowledge, background and motivation for something like this.
But of course it's a free world and part of the human experience is to be able to make mistakes. Just remember, that some mistakes can't be corrected within a lifetime. I hope that you won't make any. At least not those that could have been avoided.
